Broadbeach Alliance will be holding a brand new festival in 2008, this August Broadbeach will become all Blends of Jazz. Broadbeach will host this annual month long festival combining all forms of Jazz with the elegant flavour of local wines and delectable Broadbeach tastes of the many highly recognised and multi-award winning restaurants. Enjoy wine tastings, world class jazz musicians, swing dancing, arts and crafts markets, long Friday lunches, big Broadbeach breakfasts and lots more. Stay tuned for more details.

Bring the family to dine in Broadbeach and be a part of the party with stilt walkers, clowns, live music all over Broadbeach, jugglers, magicians and lots more, the night will conclude with an amazing fireworks display thanks to 92.5 Gold FM. Opera in the Park

Popera Grande Montage presents the ultimate excitement, passion and romance of Popera in a sensational outdoor concert where an extraordinary grand cast of ten renowned singers share their vocal talents, singing gorgeous melodies from the world of opera, musical theatre and modern Popera classics against the spectacular sunset of the Broadbeach foreshore. 6pm Kurrawa Park, Broadbeach.  
 

 

 
Swing into Christmas

Swing into Broadbeach’s Kurrawa Park on Saturday the 6th of December for Swing into Christmas. This year’s Christmas concert will be jam packed full of swing music, with amazing artists and a celebrity MC. Enjoy the sounds of the Alan Brown Big Band, the incredible sound of the Blenders and lots more. Volunteering Gold Coast will present a free event as part of Seniors Week 2008 to celebrate the valuable contribution seniors make to the Gold Coast community. The day will be fun for the whole family and will provide pertinent information relevant to our seniors. The day’s celebrations between 10 - 2pm will feature:

  • Gift bags
  • Community Stalls
  • Entertainment - George Ferguson Duo performing ‘Under the Sails’ between 11-2pm
  • Healthy Eating Presentations

Gold Coast Bike Week 2008

The action will be revving up in the Broadbeach Mall from 6pm on Wednesday 27 August as 150 show bikes take centre stage for the judging of 2008 Gold Coast Bike Week. This annual event will feature great entertainment ‘Under the Sails’ as well as the presentation of Miss Gold Coast Bike Week and an array of awards in categories including ‘People’s Choice’, ‘Best Custom’, ‘Best Sports Bike’ and the prestigious ‘Bike of the Show’. Katz Model Management - Ultimate Look 2008

Broadbeach will host the final of the 2008 Ultimate Look modeling competition presented by Katz Model Management. This annual event seeks two fresh new faces to take out the title of the 2008 Ultimate Look Female and 2008 Ultimate Look Male. The two winners will be launched into the modelling world and will share a combined package of $20,000 in cash, and prizes, plus a 12-month contract with one of Sydney’s top modelling agencies, Platform. All 33 finalists in the quest will also share a prize pool of more than $11,000. Red Centre to Gold Coast Trial

20th Sept 08, Broadbeach Mall

The 2008 Red Centre to Gold Coast Trial will finish with a big in the Broadbeach Mall. The 2008 Red Centre to Gold Coast Trial is a 12-day rally for historic rally cars of all makes and models built prior to 1986 and a number of former Australian Rally Champions are amongst the estimated 100 competitors. The event will visit Mt.Isa, Normanton, Cairns, Townsville, Longreach, Birdsville, Bourke and Goondiwindi. The last Red Centre to Gold Coast trial was held in 1995 with participants crossing the finish line in Broadbeach. The estimated 80 finishing cars will be displayed in Kurrawa Park at the completion of the event. Pan Pacific Masters Games

1st to 9th November

The 6th Pan Pacific Masters Games will be held from 1 to 9 November 2008 on the Gold Coast. An anticipated 10,000 participants from all over the world will compete in the multi-sport event which has stamped itself on the calendar at the beginning of November every two years. 34 sports will be on the program with team sports including softball, touch football, soccer, basketball and baseball to individual sports ranging from swimming, athletics, tennis and shooting, to name a few. No qualifying standards or times are required to enter the Masters Games. The only criteria is that participants meet the minimum age requirement for their respective sport, which for the majority is 30 years of age. All sports are in close proximity to the ‘Games Village’ – Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre - which will feature live nightly entertainment, a sport’s expo, fully catered hospitality and a venue for the Games sportspeople to socialise, meet up and enjoy the camaraderie the event is renowned for.
